This week we have been debating whether politics should be openly spoken about in property. For me personally I don’t see anything wrong with healthy debate so long as it does not descend into mud slinging.
I don’t know about you, but now we that have a new government at last, and yes folks it’s a CONS/LIB coalition for those who haven’t heard I wish the back benchers and sour grapes brigade would stop bleating about what they don’t have (ie; full power and control) and concentrate on what they do have – ie; some power and control and an ability to take part in a new and exciting history being created right before their eyes of which they can take an active part in. How great is that?
There are members on both sides that like to perpetuate the negative mind frames they have had for the last umpteen years in this country as members of parties in opposition. Rather like a limpet clinging to a rock after the tide has turned. People, the tide has turned!
The new coalition could turn out to be a real change for the for the better. Two fresh young minds at the helm, who will be forced to work together and talk through issues in order to simply hang on to the power they have craved for so long, must surely create a real climate for change and good. Rather than more of the same money grabbing rules, regulations and stuffy atmosphere against entrepreneurial business ideals that we have had to endure for so long.
So, come on folks, whatever your politics let’s give the new government a chance to show us what they can do and to put their money where their mouth is before we moan about how bad they are or might be. This new dawn is a huge learning curve for everyone. Inevitably, there will be a certain amount of making it up as they go along for a while until they figure out how to work together long term.
By the way, if you have not read the manifesto of the new coalition you can download the coalition-programme here. It makes very interesting reading and there is a lot of good stuff in there. Lets start this new era with a positive forward looking aspect and assume that their slogan of Freedom, Fairness and Responsibility comes true.
Finally I’m going to leave you with a quote:
Our past does not have to be our future.
